In collaboration with Innosuisse, the Swiss agency for the promotion of innovation (formerly Commission for Technology and Innovation CTI) and the Travelling and Mobility R&D team from the University of Geneva, we wanted to revolutionize indoor positioning as well as the processing of data coming from smartphones or wearables’ sensors.
The team created a software library analysing the users’ behaviour during a session in a physical location. The innovation lies in the high accuracy in which the behaviour patterns are recorded and the integration in a loyalty application running on smartphones. The library combines its data with that coming from existing e-commerce statistical analysis tools, including online and offline data. The system allows one to learn more about the customer lifecycle experience: the user is followed through the whole experience, from the website to the interaction with the environment, with the mobile loyalty app rewarding the user with digital bonuses.
A prototype was deployed at our offices in Zurich to predict the behaviour of users interacting and moving at physical locations.
